Sunnyboy Espresso is the bright little corner café on Hedges Avenue in Mermaid Beach, a few steps from the sand. Yellow umbrellas, retro seaside vibes and Social Espresso on the machine.

The spot

Breezy, sunlit and right by the beach, Sunnyboy runs a seasonal menu from brekkie and brunch through to lunch, with filter coffee, juices and a cheeky brunch drinks list too. It's the sibling of Elk Espresso in Broadbeach and a full-circle moment for owner Andrew Whiting, who opened his first café in Mermaid Beach years ago.

What's in the hopper

Sunnyboy pours our Good Company blend. It's our everyday espresso: predominantly Colombian, with milk chocolate, malt and caramel. Smooth on its own and made for milk. Loved it? Take a bag home.
